Within the framework of the ASU Masterclass – Understanding US Legal Culture program, the opening session was held at Hall A301, Campus 1, Lac Hong University, on March 23, 2026, with the participation of more than 150 students from the Law and Economic Law majors. In the context of increasingly deep international integration, accessing advanced legal systems is no longer an advantage but has become an inevitable requirement for Law and Economic Law students. In particular, the US legal system—with its flexibility, practicality, and high adaptability—requires learners to move beyond purely theoretical approaches to understand how law operates in real social contexts.

Under the guidance of MBA. Vũ Thị Thanh Huyền, the session was delivered using a modern, student-centered approach closely linked to practice. Instead of approaching law as a rigid system of rules, students were guided to view law as a “living entity,” constantly influenced by social, cultural, and human factors.

A highlight of her teaching approach was the ability to systematize foundational knowledge into thought-provoking issues, enabling students not only to absorb knowledge but also to think actively and raise questions. As a result, the classroom was not merely a one-way knowledge transfer process but became an interactive academic environment.

The content of the session was developed in depth, focusing on clarifying the nature of US legal culture. Students were introduced to key aspects such as:

    • Legal culture as a combination of social awareness, legal behavior, and the practical application of law
    • Law does not exist independently but always reflects the socio-political context at specific points in time
    • Flexibility and adaptability as defining characteristics that enable the US legal system to evolve alongside society

Through practical analytical examples, students gradually developed the ability to connect theory with application, thereby gaining a clearer understanding of the role of law in business activities and everyday life.

Alongside theoretical content, the session also emphasized learning experience. Students actively followed the lecture and engaged in discussions under the lecturer’s guidance. Open-ended questions and scenario-based prompts helped learners systematize knowledge and develop analytical thinking.

The classroom atmosphere maintained a high level of focus while remaining open and interactive, enabling students to proactively engage with knowledge and enhance self-learning ability—an essential factor in modern education.

    Conclusion:

The session led by MBA. Vũ Thị Thanh Huyền not only provided foundational knowledge of US legal culture but also contributed to shaping modern learning methods and legal thinking for students. This marks an important starting point, enabling Law and Economic Law students to confidently approach international legal systems and prepare for their future professional environment.
